CimatronE Micro Milling
|Product Overview
More
and more industries (medical, optics, computer components, etc.) depend
on the ability to cost-effectively manufacture very small,
high-precision parts and molds. Cimatron has leveraged over 2 decades
of tooling expertise, and the know-how of best-of-breed NC
applications, to introduce a first-of-its-kind Micro Milling
application that scales jobs to the micro environment – while ensuring
the superior surface accuracy and quality that you require.
| Product Highlights
- First and only NC application for milling micro-components
- Cost-effective, efficient design and manufacture of miniature high precision parts and molds
- Superb surface quality with tolerance as tight as 0.0001mm using cutting gtools with diameters down to 0.1mm
- High geometric accuracy with automatic compensation for gaps and overlaps
| Key Benefits
- Effectively scales jobs to micro environment
- Reduces tool wear-and-tear, and eliminates breakage
- Minimizes dependence on EDM electrodes
- Consistent and effective healing of sub-optimal imported geometry
- Built-in high-speed cutting strategies and other dedicated machining functions optimized for micro-milled surfaces
| Features
To
increase accuracy, achieve high surface quality, reduce machining time,
and avoid tool breakage, CimatronE Micro Milling features a special,
dedicated environment that supports machining of miniature mold cores,
cavities, minute details and electrodes for micro-systems. Features
include:
- Safe and highly-efficient toolpaths
- Recognition of actual remaining “micro stock”
- Standard 3-axis functions plus rough/re-rough/finish in the same function, for machining very thin geometry
- Trochoidal roughing
- 5-axis tilting
- For jobs requiring use of short conic tools with small diameter, hard machined material and tough surface quality requirements.
- Where part geometry has deep cavities and
ribs relative to tool length, accurate direct surface milling
drastically reduces need for electrodes in micro molds
- HSM and surface quality
- Rounded corners with very large radius compared to tool diameter
- Zero-overlap trochoidal finishing
- S-connections and helical plunging
- Adaptive Z-layer finishing
- Z-layer and flow-line machining
